THIRST - Water in the global south, between emergency and human rights

Water is a fundamental issue for development within GVC's programs. For this reason, we adopt the principles of the World Water Manifesto, according to which: “Water must be legally recognized as a common good and cannot be the object of profit-oriented trade.” Water, a fundamental resource for the well-being of a community, is necessary to hygiene and sanitation, food security, agriculture and animal raising. The millennium goal to halve the number of people do not have access to water and hygiene and sanitation services is still far from being reached: in Sub-Saharan Africa in particular, 320 million  people do not have guaranteed access to these rights.
