Description
The project aims to ensure access to safe, equitable and quality education for Syrian children and adolescents affected by the crisis, through the rehabilitation of secure spaces that take into consideration both inclusive and gender base approach, the provision of basic tool kits and the training for teachers. The support to the education system aims to increase the students number, in particular the female ones who are often victims of early and forced marriage and gender based violence (GBV). The school represents a secure and safe place and it has not only an educational mission, but also protective. The project allows to increase and to strengthen the training education activities provide for Beirut UTL Agency and addressed to teachers who carry out formal and informal activities during the afternoon, in 5 schools.
Objectives

The general objective is to ensure access to safe, equitable and quality education for children and adolescents affected by the Syrian crisis.

The specific objective is to rehabilitate and increase the access to the basic education, through the training for teachers.

Activities
  • Construction of 1 prefabricated classroom for  50 students and provision of school furniture;
  • Purchase and distribution of 10 “School Box” kits containing teaching materials in the school where it will be build the prefabricated classroom.
  • Each kit will contain the necessary material for 40 students (pens, pencils, paper, exercise books, etc.).
  • The kits are distributed in cooperation with the MoE;
  • Selection and training for teachers of the MoE;
  • Implementation of a training course in Active Education (2-week duration) for 51 teachers of the school where it will build the prefabricated classroom; participants will be organized into groups of up to 25 people.
  • Follow-up and support to 263 teachers trained;
  • Follow-up and ongoing assistance to teachers involved in Active Education training activities provided by an expert (for 2 months)
  • The expert held a real coaching.
