The ongoing Syrian crisis and the presence of a high number of refugees on the Lebanese territory, especially in the Bekaa Valley, challenges the infrastructures and the services of the hosting communities, with strong socio-economic consequences. The lack of working opportunities and the competition for access to resources are particularly serious for young people, women and people with disability: the risk is to fall into negative mechanisms such as child labour and social exclusion. The initiative promotes access to income and employment, in addition to social inclusion of these most vulnerable groups – both of the hosting and guest population – strengthening their technical skills, giving them access to opportunities on the local work market and also supporting self-entrepreneurship.
